Overview


Various optional functions are available for the FAT12/16/32, VFAT, and exFAT-compatible file systems, such as a power shutoff support function and Unicode interface. Using an optional function enables a flexible file system to be built according to the application to be developed.

FAT12/16/32, V FAT, exFAT-compatible File System Options




This optional product for the FAT12/16/32, VFAT, and exFAT-compatible file systems provides a recovery function in case an inconsistency occurs in the file system, such as after an unexpected power shutoff or media removal. Support for power shutoff of FAT file systems enables a highly reliable file system to be built for devices that require compatibility between the PC and file data. This option is optimal for in-vehicle devices such as car navigation systems that do not have a stable power supply, and battery-powered digital media devices such as digital cameras.

This optional product for FAT12/16/32, VFAT, and exFAT-compatible file systems provides a Unicode interface for FAT file systems. Unicode can be used to specify the file name, which eliminates the need to convert from the local code, resulting in higher performance.





This is an optional product for FAT12/16/32, VFAT, and exFAT-compatible file systems. The following Disk Utilities are provided.

 • Partition editing programs that support MBR partitions
 • Logical format programs that support FAT12/16/32 and VFAT




These are optional drivers for FAT12/16/32, VFAT, and exFAT-compatible file systems. In addition to the sample drivers included as standard, drivers compatible with various other media are provided.
