eSOL Bundles JTAGjet with the eBinder Integrated Development Environment

-- A truly integrated and optimized debug environment for TI TMS320DM and ARM-based processors for digital consumer products --

Portland, Oregon - Sept. 30, 2005 - eSOL, a proven developer of real-time embedded software solutions, today announced that it signed an OEM distribution agreement with Signum Systems, where eSOL bundles Signum's JTAGjet with its flagship product "eBinder®", an integrated development environment for leading 32-bit embedded processors. JTAGjet will be sold to eBinder customers through eSOL as an add-on debug option. This support adds a highly efficient JTAG-ICE option to eBinder, and benefits developers who design ARM-based digital consumer products, from digital still cameras to portable AV viewers and media players.

JTAGjet is a real-time, transparent in-circuit emulator based on the JTAG boundary scan port, and supports not only general ARM architectures but also dual core processors such as OMAP and TMS320DM series from Texas Instruments. Integrating JTAGjet with eBinder lets you use the JTAG as a debug connection, instead of having to use a separate serial or parallel port. This integration provides all of eBinder's powerful debug features through the JTAG connection. All of the JTAGjet features such as debugging code from flash, displaying registers, etc, are also available through the eBinder/JTAGjet integration.

"We are proud to partner with eSOL to provide state-of-the-art tools to the portable imaging market", says Jerry Lewandowski, President of Signum Systems. "Using our high-speed JTAG emulator with eSOL's integrated operating system allows for a more efficient visualization of the running application, considerably reduces data transfer times between the application and the debugger which in turn increases the overall performance of the embedded system."

"The need for using a JTAG port as a debug port is increasing significantly, as we enter the post-PC era with more digital consumer products today," says Nobuyuki Ueyama, Executive Vice President of eSOL. "eBinder for ARM with the JTAGjet option will satisfy this ever-increasing need, allowing developers more efficient and cost-saving debug options with this hybrid approach of offering software- and hardware-driven debug solutions." he continued.
